I’m in a particularly good mood today because we are leaving for the beach this weekend! We rarely go on trips and going on a first real get-away with baby is so exciting (and nerve-wracking). Like any new OCD-type mom, I’ve been planning what to pack all week and wanted to share some musts for my beach bag.
First up on the list is the O2BCOOL 5″ portable clip-on fan. Wes really wanted an easy breezy fan (see what I did there) to take on the beach with us for Callie girl. He navigated the reviews on Amazon and the majority seemed to like this one best. To test it, I took Callie for a stroller ride through the Florida heat the other day and though her poor back was soaked, her little face was cool to the touch and she LOVED it…just kept staring and staring. I feel like it’s the best for your babies to have a fan on hand down here in Florida (period). It’s pushing the low 100s these days and you can never be too cautious.
For snacks, I’ve returned to an old fave: the dark chocolate cherry KIND bars. Oh my YUM. They also have these new all-fruit snacks that remind me of real-fruit fruit roll ups (you know like the homemade ones). They are not the prettiest looking though-slightly resembling small animal droppings haha-but definitely yummy.
Now it’s pretty obvious that when you go to the beach you grab sunscreen BUT I’m the fairest princess in all the Land…and my poor babe got it from her Mama! This trip I’m reaching for the Babyganics sunscreen (which I’ll totally use on me too cause who needs to bring 20 different bottles) and for my face I’ll be using the Murad Anti-Aging Moisturizer with broad spectrum SPF 30+. What I like about this option for my face is that it has the SPF in it and was designed for aging/blemish-prone skin. Since having the baby/losing puffiness/balancing out hormones, I feel like I notice more signs of aging and blemishes. It’s nice to know that I can use a higher-end product to target my skin concerns while still protecting it from the UV rays.
While on the skincare topic…another body product I’ll be using before, during, and after is the Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel. This stuff is so convenient! All you have to do is rub it on, use your razor to shave like normal, and rub in the access as if it were a moisturizer. This stuff is great for on-the-go, quick, and easy shaving BUT it’s also great for those who hate shaving in the shower (and pretending they are some sort of contortionist). I’ve personally used this product already and it really does work! I’m so busy these days with the baby that my showers are super speedy, so I could see myself grabbing this during her naps when I have a better chance to tackle my long legs.
Once my legs are looking and feeling smooth, it’ll be time to hop in our swim suits and stick our toes in the sand. Below I’ve linked all the options I will be choosing from.
I’ll also be attaching my Madeline’s Box pacifier clip to Callie’s cute suit. I’m not a germaphobe by any means, but one of my pet peeves is a paci dropping on the ground…especially in the sand! I bought a bundle of clips for myself upon confirmation of my pregnancy, and last week I brought a bundle to my best friend for her gender reveal party. What I love about these clips in particular is that they are stylish and functional. They can be used for pacifiers and some teethers. They come in different styles (e.g., leather, soft jersey, crochet) and in every color/pattern you can imagine. Keep an eye out next week for a fun GIVEAWAY hosted by Amanda & I including 2 of these adorable clips.
Then, when the day is done, I’ll grab the Simply eye remover pads. These come packages in a nice on-the-go size and are great for sensitive skin like mine.
What are your favorite travel/beach products? I don’t leave for a few more hours and would love some last-minute advice! Comment below and let me know.
