I’ve been putting off making a rendition of Alfredo for two weeks now because my husband (un-admittedly) is a picky eater. However, his late night at work+my already bought ingredients resulted in what I like to call my ‘cooking curiosity’.
All I have to say is…quick+easy+delicious!
This recipe took approximately 20-30 minutes and can be eaten as is, or as a base to added yummies that sweeten the pot (e.g., broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, etc.). Here’s what I did:
*3 strips bacon
*1 pack chicken tenders
*1/2 stick butter
*8 oz cream cheese
*1 pint cream
*3 oz./1 small bottle parmesan-romano cheese
*1 tsp garlic powder
*1 tsp garlic salt
*1/4 tsp peprika
*1/4 tsp ground pepper
*1/4 tsp italian seasoning
*1 box rotini pasta
Using kitchen scissor, cut chicken and bacon into chunks. In a large fry pan, brown meat. While meat is browning, melt butter in a medium sauce pan. Add cream cheese till mostly blended, then add cream. Use whisk to smooth. Add cheese and other dry spices and whisk once more. Pour sauce into fry pan and simmer while pasta is cooking (use box directions). In a large bowl, mix pasta and sauce together. Enjoy!
Here’s the finished product! Like I said, I may add some extra yummies into a portion of it next time for myself (though it truly is great as is). That’s the neat thing about it…you can make the base recipe and then separate it into smaller portions for individual preference (#baserecipe). This is great for all you moms/wives with picky eaters yay! I paired it with a nice pinot grigio and hit the nail on the head!
I hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think. I’m off to get my bacon fix…
